LIND-Web

Elia President Françoise Bajon has volunteered to represent Elia members and other language service companies by serving on the Editorial Board of the Language Industry Web Platform (LIND-Web).

The LIND-Web is a European Commission Directorate-General (DGT) programme created to compile facts and figures about the EU language industry. These are provided by language professionals, industry stakeholders and EU institutions.

The goal is to raise awareness of the language industry as an economic sector with considerable growth potential and essential in today’s global markets. The LIND-Web serves as a knowledge base for all language professionals and relies on their input. It is possible to browse or upload documents in any EU language. The DGT staff is assisted and advised by an Editorial Board which includes 10 influential language industry experts. In addition to its work for the LIND-Web, the Editorial Board also serves an advisory role in the European Master’s in Translation (EMT) – a quality label for master’s level translation programmes that meet agreed professional standards and market demands.
