PM like an influencer
Part I: Introduction
In this two-part, highly interactive workshop, Show more...industry veterans and experts will be taking you on a journey to become great influencers, a skill that will become increasingly important in your role as a Project Manager. This is not all about social media and becoming a social media star. It is more about recognising and harnessing your power of influence within your organisation, team and especially with your clients.

Better, faster, stronger
Presentation - Group A
The role of a project manager is constantly Show more...evolving, nowadays more than ever. On one side, project managers are expected to steadily improve performance and efficiency in their everyday work, on the other side LSPs set out to redefine the role making it future-proof to the changed requirements of the language industry. But what does it entail to get “faster, stronger, better”, how is it possible to live up to these expectations as a project manager and – most importantly - how do those developments change our work and what is in it for us?
In this session, we will look at these questions from different angles and elaborate on the most pressing with the help of practical examples.
Big, bad AI coming for us
Presentation - Group B
AI is cool. It has style. It could write Show more...friendly emails on our behalf. It could give a human touch to your vendor relations. It could speed up quality checks. But AI is generic, at least when it comes to large language models. You can’t just invite in a stranger from the street and get them to do translation project management – you learned it for months until you became good. The AI race is on. As machine translation took a long time to go from rejection to majority, LLMs probably will take a while until they go mainstream. Today you can sell better with it, isn’t it a good enough justification to spend some time thinking?

Better, faster, stronger
Workshop - Group A
Based on the input we have given in the presentation Show more...on how to deal with the most pressing challenges in modern project management, we will have a closer look at specific scenarios in our everyday work. We will split into groups and discuss how to approach different situations, present ideas and see how to integrate them sustainably into your processes. We will focus on you as a project manager and how you can contribute immensely to your company’s requirements to meet the ever-increasing expectations to be faster, better, and stronger - without forgetting your personal (and team) well-being.
Big, bad AI coming for us
Workshop - Group B
In this workshop we’ll focus on scalability Show more...– not client relations, not vendor relations, not technology, not quality; scalability. We will assume that you want to grow with technology. We will assume that there can be measures that allow you to do more without compromising quality. We won’t fight AI, but at least 80% of what we’ll discuss are business practices that bring clarity to the business. We will dissect, discuss and scrutinise these. We will ask critical questions that PMs often don’t have the bandwidth to ask, and we will all go home with thoughts about what we can do to prepare our companies and teams for the weird times that the 2020s brought.

Casa Oprea Soare
The Show more...name of the inn comes from one of the wealthiest merchants of Little Paris, Dumitru Oprea Soare, who built the house on the land inherited from his father.
The charm of Casa Soare made Vintilă Brătianu say that it is one of the private buildings that has proven that “there can very well created civil architecture with national character”. The restaurant invites its guests in a gorgeous environment, with or without a high hat, canes and pocket watch with chain.

Humans are productive. What about AI?
Those of us who get up in the morning and go to work to do a Show more...good day's job have an inherent need to be productive, which is amplified by customer and corporate expectations. We employ tools and technologies to get things done better, faster, and cheaper. While these tools evolve, every change introduces a new level of complexity, and a new need to adapt, adapt and learn. Does AI change this paradigm in our industry? Large Language Models (LLMs) are general-purpose machines, not created for a specific purpose; many of their capabilities emerge unforeseen, and their output quality varies depending on the task. This is unlike the traditional tools we have come to love and use: purpose-built, well-controlled, with (largely) predictable outcomes and benefits. We'll dive into what this new AI paradigm entails for those of us in the language industry, including expectations around incremental or radical changes, efficiencies and pitfalls while staying human.
