3 Months On from Execs25 : Future-Proofing and Growth with Roberto Ganzerli

Three months have passed since ELIA Focus on Executives 2025, but the conversations that took place in Limassol continue to shape how leaders in our industry are thinking about the future.

Two sessions led by Roberto Ganzerli stood out for their clarity, practicality, and urgency—guiding executives through the realities of future-proofing their LSPs and navigating mergers and acquisitions in a rapidly changing market.

We’re revisiting Roberto’s insights now because the issues he addressed—market transformation, readiness, valuation, and strategic growth—are not abstract trends; they are decisions leaders need to make today. In Roberto’s own words, here’s a reminder of what matters most and why the time to act is now:

Three months ago in Cyprus, we explored what it really takes for small and mid-sized LSPs to future-proof their businesses in the face of shifting market dynamics, evolving client expectations, and the impact of AI.

The message was clear: staying still is not an option. From the 4-step transformation roadmap to the practical M&A strategies shared in Session 2, the sessions sparked strong engagement and many follow-up questions—especially around readiness, valuation, and real-world deal examples.

Across two packed sessions, we unpacked a practical 4-step transformation roadmap and demystified the world of M&A for LSPs, with an emphasis on small-to-mid-sized companies that often get left out of the conversation. We talked about what readiness really means, how to approach valuation with clarity, and how to build the internal structure that makes your business more resilient—whether you’re aiming to grow, sell, or simply improve operations.

The engagement and honest conversations that followed showed just how relevant these topics are. Many of you shared that you’ve been thinking about change for a while but lacked a clear direction or framework. My goal was to help spark that clarity—and give you tools to move from reflection to action.

But the event wasn’t the finish line, it was the starting point.

A Reminder from Roberto

Standing still is not an option. The pace of change in our industry means leaders must be deliberate, strategic, and willing to act before they’re forced to.

Three months on, I encourage every LSP leader to ask:

  • Do you have a clear growth plan aligned with current market realities?
  • Is your organisation structurally ready for partnership, investment, or acquisition—whether in a year or two years?
  • Are you leading proactively, or reacting under pressure?

If you left Cyprus with an action list, now is the time to revisit it. The market won’t slow down, and neither will your competitors.

Roberto’s reflections are a powerful reminder that change is not a one-off event—it’s an ongoing process. The strategies, frameworks, and candid conversations from Focus on Executives were designed to be revisited and applied long after we left Limassol.

Now is the time to:

  • Review your event notes and prioritise the actions that will have the biggest impact now.
  • Reconnect with fellow attendees to exchange updates, challenges, and progress since May.
  • Engage in the ELIA Members WhatsApp group to keep the dialogue alive and tap into the experience of peers across the industry.
  • Follow along with this post-event insight series as we share key takeaways from other sessions to keep your thinking sharp and forward-focused.

The conversations we began in Cyprus don’t have to end—they can grow into collaborations, new strategies, and tangible results. Use the months ahead to act on your insights, deepen your connections, and stay part of the dialogue shaping the future of our industry.
