Interview Spotlight with Ioannis Kassios from TECHNOGRAFIA

Next up in our new interview series celebrating our 20th Anniversary, ELIA’s Roots: Stories from Our Member Companies, is Ioannis Kassios from TECHNOGRAFIA.

This interview series is a continuation from our Past Board Members series, and this time we turn to the ones who have allowed ELIA to grow into the association it is today and showed support and engagement throughout the years: our Members.

In each edition, a Member Company shares their unique story with ELIA, from special memories and Member value, to business milestones and industry connections.

Now, let’s hear from Ioannis Kassios on his ELIA journey since 2015.

When did you first join ELIA, and what brought you to the association?

We joined ELIA in 2015. From the very beginning of TECHNOGRAFIA, we have strongly believed in the power of collaboration and professional associations. Joining ELIA was a natural step for us, as it aligned with our values of learning, continuous development, and actively participating in a community of like-minded industry professionals.

What is one of your favourite memories from an ELIA event or within the community?

One of my favourite ELIA memories goes back to ELIA ND in Bucharest in 2017. During one of the lunches, the ELIA team unexpectedly shared that it was the birthday of Evi — my partner in business and in life — and suddenly the entire room joined in singing and wishing her well.

What do you value most about being part of the ELIA community?

What I value most about being part of the ELIA community is the spirit of collaboration and shared growth. ELIA has provided us with a space where we can exchange knowledge openly, learn from industry leaders, and contribute our own experience to support others. Beyond the professional development, it’s the genuine relationships and the sense of belonging to a community that truly understands the challenges and opportunities of our industry that makes ELIA so valuable to us.

How has ELIA impacted your business or your professional journey?

The association has opened doors to collaborate with like-minded organizations across Europe, enabling us to build partnerships grounded in trust and shared standards. In many ways, ELIA has been a catalyst for our development, fostering innovation, growth, and meaningful connections within the language services sector.

Looking ahead, what do you see for the future of ELIA and our community?

I see ELIA continuing to grow and evolve, fueled by the dynamic and inspired professionals who are joining the community. The energy, fresh ideas, and commitment of new members will ensure that ELIA remains a vibrant, forward-thinking association — one that continues to foster learning, collaboration, and innovation across the language services sector.
