The Voices Behind the Words: Member Spotlight with Julia Goncharik from World Global Eyes

Next up in our series “The Voices Behind the Words: Member Spotlight” where we shine a light on the diverse stories and experiences of our members, is Julia Goncharik, Customer Relations Manager at World Global Eyes. In this spotlight, Julia shares her perspective on building trusted, long-term client partnerships through personalised collaboration and a thoughtful hybrid human-AI approach.

1. Please can you share three interesting facts about your company?

  • Although WGE Language Consultancy is a small translation company, it is dynamic and has collaborated with many major technology companies on a global scale. We have also established our offices in multiple countries around the world.
  • Our team is culturally diverse and consists of various professionals in the translation industry, such as Chemistry Technologists, Mechanical Engineers, and Former Language Teachers.
  • We have come a long way from our humble beginnings as a small agency near the Desert in Cairo, Egypt, to our new headquarters near the wonderful waterfront Docks in the City of Liverpool, UK.

2. What aspect of your company do you believe sets it apart from others in the industry?

  • WGE Language Consultancy Ltd offers deeply personalized collaboration where our team invests time not only in understanding our client’s needs but also their business synergy. We utilize Synergistic Client Collaboration. This approach enables our company to be our client’s true growth partner rather than just a vendor.
  • We utilize a Hybrid Human-AI Workflow that is tailored for every client. This ensures that our company customizes the integration of AI tools with expert human translations and cultural expertise. These integrations ensure that the technology amplifies human nuance and creativity, specifically in each client’s context. All our project managers are certified in translation Project Management and operate under internationally recognized standards.
  • Our team takes great pride in its Agility and Transparency. Our small size allows us to be the most efficient, agile, and transparent during this transition period. We can quickly pivot the workflows and openly communicate about any technological upgrades or challenges.

3. What would people never guess you do in your role?

During our time in the translation industry, we have become trusted partners in the legal field. Our team has dealt with some very high-profile criminal cases in the legal profession. We provided not only the translation but also the transcripts that were required in multiple languages. Some people would be surprised by the clients involved, but these will always remain strictly confidential between all the parties concerned.

4. What’s the most interesting or unusual client request you’ve ever received?

One request we received back in 2019 was both interesting and unusual. It came from the American Language Research Institute. It lasted for about a year and had approximately 700K words for Arabic, Egyptian, and Tunisian Dialects. The nature of the project was machine learning. At that time, I remember it took us a while to prepare ourselves and train our remote linguistic teams to handle this project. We were doing our first steps in language data collection and the further integration of it. This gave our team invaluable experience in large, complicated projects while allowing us to use our expertise.

5. If you were to create a slogan or tagline for your company using only emojis, what would it be?

👩‍💼📚✍️💼, 🤝❤️

Professional Translators, Personal Care

6. What’s one thing you wish more people knew about the language industry?

The language industry in 2025 is a dynamic fusion of human expertise and AI technology, where professional translators continue to play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy, cultural nuance, and context that AI alone cannot provide. While AI-like neural machine translation accelerates the process, many languages still lack enough quality data for reliable automated translation, making human oversight indispensable. The industry is growing steadily, driven by global demand for specialized translations in legal, medical, technical, and localization fields, emphasizing a hybrid approach that combines machine translation with expert post-editing and cultural adaptation. This balance between technology and skilled linguists ensures translations are precise, culturally appropriate, and meet complex market requirements.
