“ELIA ND provided me with the opportunity to meet peers from the language industry, exchange ideas, and broaden my horizons,” shared Sotir Rangelov from Oltrans.
Our Networking Days 2023 event unfolded in the charming city of Krakow, Poland, on September 28 and 29, right at the heart of the Old Town at the Vienna House by Wyndham Andel’s Krakow. With the historic Market Square just a stone’s throw away, attendees were immersed in the rich culture of the city, enjoying sunset tours of the Old Town and the Old Jewish Quarter. These excursions provided a glimpse into the city’s history and created the perfect setting for meeting new acquaintances, connecting with fellow professionals, and fostering enduring relationships.
We were privileged to host Richard Lucas as our keynote speaker on day one. A seasoned business and social entrepreneur, he offered invaluable insights into building and managing effective management teams while preventing them from becoming bottlenecks to a company’s growth.
The event then transitioned into engaging round-table discussions covering various topics, including ChatGPT, Strategies for Differentiation, and the Evolution of Project Management. Attendees had the opportunity to share their insights on current industry challenges and opportunities with like-minded professionals. To cap off an exciting day, we organised an ELIA-first karaoke night, courtesy of committee member and ELIA Board Member, Klaus Fleischmann, along with the new President of ELIA, Anu Carnegie-Brown. The night was filled with delightful surprises as attendees unveiled their secret talents in singing and dancing, all while enjoying a sumptuous dinner and drinks with breathtaking views from the venue’s terrace.
Day two was equally engaging, featuring discussions on topics such as expanding one’s LSP range, pricing strategies, and the impact of AI. Britta Aagaard, Chief Business Officer at Semantix, shared her perspective on LangOps in her keynote presentation, emphasising that it’s not solely about technology but a set of philosophies, practices, and tools that significantly enhance an organisation’s global customer communication.
As the event came to an end, attendees gathered for a final round of toasts and farewells at the closing drinks. New friendships were solidified, and old connections were rekindled, leaving participants with a wealth of knowledge and lasting bonds.
Now, our ELIA team is gearing up for the grand finale of the year: Focus on PM 2023 in Bucharest. We look forward to another incredible event filled with networking, knowledge-sharing, and growth opportunities.
