Dear ELIA members,
As we approach the end of another year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared in 2024. It’s been a year of challenges with many of us feeling a bit lost with the shifting goal posts. We have tried to embrace transformation by studying AI and implementing it in our workflows. We have worked hard to repurpose our staff for new roles and specialised tasks. And we acknowledge we need a clear business strategy if we want to make the most of the opportunities that await us in the new year.
Despite the tough times, the past year held many positives for us to celebrate. ELIA organised four successful events; I want to thank everyone who participated and especially those who worked hard to make them happen. Your presence at ELIA Together in Riga, Focus on Execs in Malta, Networking Days in Berlin, and Focus on PM in Belgrade made these events possible, unique and memorable.
Together in Riga was our fourth live LSP-freelancer gathering; we had 139 attendees and they gave the event an impressive net promoter score of 81.67. At Focus on Execs, we had 68 participants and got a net promoter score of 69. At Networking Days, 113 people turned up and they gave the event a net promoter score of 80. And at Focus on PM, we had 93 attendees and the net promoter score was 78. These numbers show that ELIA members continue to find our face-to-face events valuable and enjoyable. Indeed, they are often considered the main benefit that ELIA offers.
Yet, there are others. In 2024, we produced and recorded 10 webinars in our Focus Forward series which 843 people registered to watch. We introduced 22 member companies in our Voices Behind the Words interview series and published 9 other articles where we shared original industry insights. You can still catch up on these on the ELIA website under News.
With 18 new members joining in 2024, ELIA now has 185 members. I’m elated to have each one of you onboard, especially as I know how carefully we all watch our operating expenses these days. I’m also very grateful to our staff and the Board of Directors for their commitment to the association. Their efforts made it possible for ELIA to continue to provide valuable services and resources to our members.
Looking forward to 2025, our Together event will kick off the year in Barcelona on 21-25 February, and Focus on Execs will follow in Limassol on 15-16 May. Networking Days is planned for 2-3 October and Focus on PM for 26-28, locations to be confirmed.
At the time of writing this, we are waiting for our 2023 annual accounts from the accountants in order to set the date for our Annual General Meeting. The aim is to hold it on Zoom in January 2025.
You have been fantastic members for the past year and you all deserve a break in order to pause, spend time with loved ones, and cherish the moments that truly matter. On behalf of ELIA, I wish you a peaceful holiday season. May the Christmas lights shine bright on you, and may 2025 bring prosperity and new horizons for us all.
