Together 2026 Speaker Article: Part 1 with Luísa Jacinto
How to build a valuable social media presence as a freelancer or LSP? How to utilise it as a defined method of communication and growth? Hear from Luísa Jacinto, one of our ELIA Together 2026 speakers, on her event highlights and takeaways:

Speaking at Together 2026 was an energising experience! One of the things that stood out most during the session was how open people were to the topic of social media and digital visibility. Many attendees were already active online (either through their company pages or their personal profiles) but still looking for ways to structure their efforts more effectively. The interest was clear during the Q&A, where many participants shared questions and challenges, which shows that social media strategy is still a very relevant topic within the language industry.
Many language service providers are already present online. They attend events, share updates, publish company news, and occasionally experiment with creative campaigns. However, visibility alone does not automatically translate into positioning, authority, or inbound opportunities. Without a defined structure behind communication, effort can easily become fragmented…
My session was designed to be practical. The goal was to give both freelancers and LSPs a simple framework they could use to build a solid foundation for their social media presence. We discussed key starting points such as identifying the right audience, defining clear content pillars, and creating consistency in communication.
One aspect I particularly appreciate about ELIA events is the atmosphere within the community. There is very little hierarchy in conversations – freelancers, CEOs, project managers, and business development professionals all exchange ideas openly. People ask questions, share experiences, and genuinely engage with each other. That openness creates a space where learning and collaboration happen naturally.
At the same time, many companies in the language industry are navigating similar challenges: increasing competition, AI integration, market saturation, and the difficulty of standing out beyond traditional networks. Events like Together create an important space not only for discussion, but also for strategic reflection and shared learning.
For me personally, the experience confirmed that LSPs are ready to elevate their communication. The questions, the follow-up conversations, and the openness to rethink digital presence showed that social media is seen as part of sustainable growth.
Thank you to ELIA for the opportunity to contribute, and to everyone who attended the session and continued the discussion afterwards!
