Our project managers are critical cogs in our business. We are responsible for hiring, motivating, managing, empowering, training, and promoting them but rarely do we have all the answers. Bring your questions and ideas about the role of PMs and the people to our Discussion Group on International Translation Day and take advantage of the knowledge of your peers. This session will allow you to benefit from the 100+ combined years of experience that our four hosts will bring to the conversation.

Alina Birsan

Alina Birsan is the founding manager of Language Service Provider AB Language Solutions, Bucharest – Romania.

Alina Birsan graduated both Business Administration and Law School in Bucharest, received an Erasmus scholarship at Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona and obtained a Master’s degree in Project Management.

She discovered her passion for the language industry while working for the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs as an interpreter, translator and protocol officer for high level diplomatic events.

In 2008 she chose to follow in her family footsteps and took on an entrepreneurial adventure (AB Language Solutions), ready to experience all possible hats one could wear in the endeavor of shaping both an LSP for end customers and a regional LSP for industry partners.

She relies on her dynamic and ambitious team, sound procedures and a robust business and translation management system.

Alina first joined Elia in 2017, and less than two years later she was elected as a Director on the Elia Board.

Always eager to learn and communicate, Alina will be happy to have a word with you.

Susana Peixoto

Susana Peixoto graduated in Business Administration and obtained a Master of Corporate Sciences degree at the Oporto University in Portugal.In 1997 Susana founded her own translation company, merging her passions for foreign cultures, languages and business. Following a sustained growth, EXPRESSÃO nowadays has a clear focus on legal and financial translations and a solid client base which includes language companies and also direct clients such as multinational companies, banks and investment funds.

She has been involved in all aspects of the business, but today, after implementing a business and translation management system, she is devoted to moving her company towards new horizons. This is all being accomplished through a comprehensive strategy and internationalisation plan.

Susana was a university lecturer in Economics and Finance for eight years and currently teaches Financial Translation at the European Master’s in Translation at the Oporto University. She has been the Elia Exchange National Coordinator for Portugal for the last two years and succeeded in attracting two renowned universities to the programme.

Her soft skills include a good work ethic, professionalism and empathy. Susana also really values engagement.

Richard Brooks

Richard Brooks is the CEO of Language Service Provider K International. He holds a triple accredited MBA from Cranfield School of Management majoring in economics and finance. He has completed and contributed to numerous educational programs Worldwide and co-written several publications on topics of interest. Having spent 25 years in the language industry he is currently serving as an executive board member for European Language Industry Association and is a former executive board member for the ALC.Outside of the language industry Richard is an active investor in several technology and green startups and an active participant in various academic societies on the topic of B2B sales and marketing.

He has many recommendations from his clients who consider him to be not only a truly professional and inspirational business leader but a person who is as equally at home and interesting in the boardroom as he is in the coffee-break room.

Konstantin Josseliani

Konstantin Josseliani is the founder and CEO of Janus Worldwide. Combining his 20+ years of experience in localisation with over a decade of expertise in strategic planning and organisational development, Konstantin’s focus as the company’s architect is to improve its production capabilities, service offerings, and infrastructure. Konstantin holds diplomas in linguistics and in management.
