5 issues to avoid when starting with MT

16 June 2021, 16:00-17:00 CEST

Speakers: Diego Cresceri & Mihai Petrescu

Description
Machine Translation and post-editing have been on everybody’s lips for years now, but research shows that only a few LSPs have implemented a successful MT programme.

While sharing the challenges (and successes) they have encountered in their respective companies, Mihai and Diego will moderate a discussion on how to avoid common pitfalls related to technology,  supply chain and much more.

Diego Cresceri
Founder and CEO, Creative Words

Graduated in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Genoa, before founding Creative Words he was a translator, Project Manager and Chief Operation Officer in a local translation agency.

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of ELIA, the European Language Industry Association.

At Creative Words he is responsible for the company’s strategy and growth.

With a strong inclination to share, when not involved in his company he holds workshops and seminars on innovation, artificial intelligence and machine translation at universities, training schools and language associations nationally and internationally.

He enjoys spending his (little) free time with his two kids.

Mihai Petrescu
Tech & Business Development, AB Language Solutions

He joined the language industry almost a decade ago, shortly after being awarded a Bachelor of Sciences in Dynamical Systems in the University of Craiova in Romania.

Given his background and his innate passion for technology, he found his current Tech & Business Development role at AB Solutions a perfect fit for him.

He believes that innovation and keeping abreast of the industry trends is crucial to a company’s development and he loves sharing his views with likeminded people on various channels and platforms.

He loves history and traveling and he likes exploring MT and Blockchain world.
