Over 33,000 people are reported to have been killed and more than 70,000 injured following two powerful earthquakes in Türkiye (Turkey) and Syria.
The first quake had a magnitude of 7.8, followed hours later by another measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale. The earthquakes are estimated to have directly impacted 23 million people.
As rescue teams continue to search the rubble of the many buildings that have been destroyed, the death toll is sadly still rising. We are asking you to think of those affected right now who have lost their friends, family, homes and country at this significantly distressing time.
